On Tuesday, May 6 at 6 pm the Center for Communication in Medicine (CCM) hosted the next in their SpeakSooner Community Education webinar series.

Improving Healthcare Communication: SpeakSooner and Adirondack Health Meet the Challenge offered an informative discussion about the success of CCM’s signature tool, SpeakSooner: A Patient’s Guide to Difficult Conversations.

A live panel and video interviews will prompt an in-depth discussion on how this program has introduced and integrated SpeakSooner communication tools in Adirondack Health (Saranac Lake, NY) oncology and shown significant benefit to both patients and providers – without increasing demands on a time-crunched system. Our panelists from Adirondack Health include: David Mastrianni, MD, oncologist/hematologist; Sara Ames, AOCNP, oncology nurse practitioner; Jessica Shumway, PA, cardiology physician’s assistant; and Mary Smith, RN, nurse and cancer patient. We will also be joined by Luke Meissner, Director of Development and Provider Relations via pre-recorded video.
